Recipe of The Week

Tzatziki Dip or Sauce


  • 2 cups of Middle Eastern plain yogurt
  • 2 cups of yogurt spread (Labna: Middle Eastern style yogurt spread)
  • 1/2 English cucumber or 2 small Mediterranean cucumbers
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (start with 1/8 tsp and add the rest if needed)
  • 1 tablespoon of fruity Extra Virgin Olive (Aegean EXV olive oil)
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground dry mint
  • Pinch of  ground black or white pepper
  • Pinch of Sumac


Grate the cucumber and place it in sieve, and set it over bowl (Squeeze as much liquid from the cucumber as you can).
Place all the ingredients in a big bowl and mix very well. Allow the tzatziki to sit in the refrigerator for a few hours for the flavors to blend or you can serve Immediately. Serve chilled or at room temperature. Garnish with Sumac and olive oil.
It can be used  as a vegetable dip, dressing, or as sauce for sandwiches.
